ABOUT

Karla O. Armendariz is a Mexican-American producer, director, and cinematographer based in Austin, Texas. She is originally from the Mexican/USA border towns of El Paso, Texas and Ciudad Juarez, Chihuahua. Since she was 9 years old she has known her passion is in film.

"One of my ultimate goals is to highlight diversity in content directed to children by creating space for Latinx stories to be told. Growing up I only watched animated films and cartoons in Spanish, but there was not really a lot of things I could relate to my daily life. This made me realize as an adult that I didn't really have many characters/real life creators to look up to with my background and I want to change that."  

   She has worked at 2perf Productions for the last two years producing everything from music videos, high end commercials, independent features/shorts, live events, and documentaries. Dedicated and always brings professionalism to the sets she runs. She has worked on shows for HBO, Discovery+, Magnolia Network, branded content for Toyota, Disney, The French Farm, and so much more.

Graduate from the University of Texas at Austin with a Bachelor of Science in Radio-Television-Film and Business.
